of a Tui Home

At times, Tui Residents are away from Tui for a few weeks or up to several months, seeking either house- or pet-sitting, or offering to rent their Tui Home short-term.

This can provide an excellent opportunity for a quiet personal retreat or for an introductory stay to experience Tui Community living.

Note: Stays longer than 4 weeks require 1/2 day/week volunteer work in the community garden or orchard.

The Octagon House

This home is a hand-crafted wooden octagon building with an open-plan layout and mezzanine upstairs. The house gets all-day sun during winter.

Rental fee: $300/week (for 1 adult), or $350/week (for 2 adults)

M’Ocean Song

Available 1 June – 1 December (4 months minimum stay)

I’m offering our fully furnished, peaceful and large coastal sanctuary M’Ocean Song for a winter stay in beautiful Wainui Bay. A handcrafted cordwood home with curved walls and mosaic features, in native bush with views across the bay. Just a 10‑minute walk to Wainui Beach.

This spacious house works great for shared living, it comfortably accommodates up to 10 people and is ideal for remote work, creative projects, or a peaceful winter by the sea.

M'Ocean Song

The main house and sleepout are fully furnished.

• 4 bedrooms in main house + detached sleepout called ‘Ocean’ (king bed + office/coaching space)
• Fully equipped kitchen + large dining area (seats up to 12)
• 1 indoor showers + 1 outdoor shower
• 4 toilets (including 3 composting systems)
• Solar + wetback water heating
• Large lounge with fireplace and space for up to 20 people

• 2 caravans in ‘Cara Valley’ close to the house
• Established large gardens & native bush surrounds
• Beautiful views over Wainui Bay
• Spacious parking for up to 6 vehicles

Rental fee: $450 per week

(weekly price includes community contribution for up to 4 people, and excludes electricity, firewood, internet, cooking gas)

Options for joining Tui Community while renting M'Ocean Song

For stays up to 4 months, you’re welcome to rent the house without joining the intentional Tui Community where the property is located.

After 4 months, if you’d like to continue your stay, you can apply for residence and join the Tui Community. Alternatively, you are welcome to join the community immediately.
